Flowers For My Grandma

My Grandma asked me for cookies to leave with her hosts while traveling across the country.  I sent her with flowers.

Jeepers Creepers!

Minecraft Creeper cookies.  Simple and bold.  Like this blog post.

Black & White

I love black & white.  I love how the colors just pop against each other.  I just made these ones for fun!

Farewell Cookies

These were fun.  A friend of mine asked if I could make some cookies for a farewell party.  Each of the 4 dozen cookies I made had a different "goodbye" sentiment; I used many languages and many designs and I'm so happy with how they turned out.  Forgive the picture, I know it's a bit blurry.

Vintage Wedding Cookies

A friend of mine got married this past weekend and asked me for vintage-y looking cookies in light pinks, ivory, and gold.  I had no idea what to do until I found THIS life-changing tutorial and then I made my game plan.  To be honest, I just watched the making of the roses part of the tutorial and then my attention span flew out the window.  But I ran with it and I'm loving the results.  I made rose cookies, both bunches and bouquets, as well as brush embroidery flowers and lace.  I also did a little experimenting with trying woodgrain cookies as well.  The bride was using old palettes and wine barrels as display tables, so I thought a woodgrain cookie would add nicely to the feel of the cookies.

They all look great together and the bride loved them too!

Elmo Cookies

A friend of mine celebrated her son's second birthday today!  Here are the Elmo-themed treats requested for the occasion.  Sorry, I know the picture isn't that great, it's all I could snap before they went out the door this morning.

Bridal Shower Cookies

I made some cookies for a bridal shower this week.  Dress, ring, and calendars with circled date.

Baby Boy Cookies

Made some simple baby-blue and baby-green onesies, strollers, and hearts.  Baby love.

Mario-Themed Cookies 2014

Every time I get to make Mario cookies, I always have fun and make at least one new design!
These have to be some of my favorites to make.  They are bright and colorful, simple to make, and kids love the mix of video games and baked goods!  The simplest designs pack the most punch - stars especially take so little time for such a great look.

Lego Minifig Cookie Tutorial

So here we go, my second tutorial.  I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

My son's birthday party was this weekend, and my kids LOVE to do cookie decorating with the kids at their parties.  But sometimes kids get sick of just blobs of icing and sprinkles, so I though that I should do something a little different.  I decided that if I made "blank" minifigures, that the kids at the party could add their own faces and color some clothes in with food color markers (like the Wilton Foodwriters).  I was cheap and only bought 2 packs of Foodwriters (only 10 markers), but that was enough for the 8 kids around the table.  I really enjoyed making these Lego guys!

Someone bought me a minifig cookie cutter on eBay and I just had to try it out!  Perfect Lego men every time!

I started with yellow piping icing and did the hands and traced the head.

Then, to make sure I kept separation between the piped areas, I flooded the areas not touching eachother and then waited a while and finished the rest.

Ready for drying!

I also did ones with black pants as well.

And after a solid 24 hours of dry time, here we are, iced and ready to be colored by your young artists!
I chose to outline in black, I think it really makes it pop, but white outline would make it look a little smoother and still show that separation in the arms and legs.

Cookie Monster Cooookieeeees!

Om nom nom nom!

I was asked to make some Cookie Monster Cookies with some M&M chocolate chip with only blue M&Ms to match.  Love how these ones turned out.

Wild West Cookies!

Our church had a Wild West themed party this weekend, and I was asked to make some cookies for the occasion!  I had a blast making these ones.  I especially loved how the bandana print turned out (thanks for the help, Sugarbelle!).  I did the outlines of the cowboy boots and hats as wax paper transfers to get a consistent size on all the cookies, but other than that everything was freehand.

Bridal Shower Cookies

Simple and sweet favours for a bridal shower in her wedding colours.  My favourite are the ampersands with the initials of the bride and groom.

Valentine's Day Cookies

The 14th has come and gone, and I made some cookies for the occasion!

I started with some traditional scalloped hearts, then headed to other patterned hearts.  But my favorites are the ones that go a little more modern.
