A friend of mine celebrated her 30th birthday this past Friday, and with the end-of-the-mayan-calendar-apocalypse set for the same day, the theme of the party was meant to be. I added these explosion cookies to the spread for the party.

More Christmas Cheer!
Here are some shots of newer designs for Christmas cookies that I've made this week. New this year are the mittens; I really enjoy making these ones and the design really captures the eye. Since I'm sure my kids aren't the only ones that like the look of gingerbread men more than the taste, I made a more kid-friendly version of gingerbread men with chocolate icing and classic gingerbread man decorations. And lastly, I've added a seasonal touch to my tile cookies with a holly design.

Paintball Cupcakes
My husband went paintballing for his birthday, and couldn't resist making cupcakes for the occasion!
Go Sports!
Tile Cookies
A friend of mine has dubbed these decorated sugar cookies "Tile Cookies" after thinking about how much they look like spanish ceramic tiles. Believe it or not, I can crank out the decoration on these cookies faster than anything else I make because the design is all made in one layer. I've now decided that they're my go-to design for non-seasonal requests.

Lego Ninjago Cupcakes & Cookies
We had a Lego Ninjago birthday party this weekend for my son, which definitely required cookies and cupcakes. The ninja cookie-cutters (Ninjabread Men by Fred) supplied the perfect shape for Ninjago cookies, and the simple cupcake design was pleasing to the eye, not to mention tasty!
Lego Head Marshmallow Pops!
Time for a Lego party! Not only did these little guys turn out great, they tasted awesome. I mean, who doesn't love chocolate-covered marshmallows??

Gluten-Free? Really?
I had a request last week for a gluten-free cake with a "Hulk" theme! As a person with Celiac disease, I was more than happy to bake it. It was a moist and fluffy chocolate cake with french vanilla icing. So gluten-free can look AND taste good!

The Start Of Something Beautiful
I'm Christy, and I love to bake.
Originally I had no intention of starting my own business as a baker, I just love to bake for people. My desire to make every cookie and square look and taste perfect is just something I like to do with my spare time, so when I started getting offers of payment for my work, it was quite a decision to make. Do I love baking enough to bake more than I already do? Is it going to become something I don't enjoy anymore if I know that there's an expectation on me? Well, I'm here to find out.
